General Information #
The Committee is Comprised of the Following:
- Oversight - Second Vice President (will rotate yearly)
- Chairperson – Senior Director (will rotate yearly)
- Vice Chairperson – Junior Director (will rotate yearly)
- Will rotate into the Chairperson position the preceding year
- Past President – Elected by the Past Presidents in attendance at the Annual Training Seminar for a 1 Year Term.
- 3 Members Appointed to a 3 Year Term – One representing each of the three geographical areas as defined in Article VI, Section 4 (Geographical Representation – Northern, Mid-State, and Southern areas) of the Constitution of this Association.
- Confirmation of the Members appointed by the President shall be by two-thirds majority of the Executive Committee.
Committee Duties #
- Preparation and administration of the Policies and Procedures of the Committee.
- Research methods for generating income for the Fund.
- Request donations to raffle at the annual training seminars.
- Determine categories for which awards may be made.
- Verify that applicants have met the minimum qualifications for review.
- Criteria for the selection of recipients, and the amount each approved applicant will be awarded.
- Work with Secretary-Treasurer and the Audit and Finance Committee for updated availability of funds for disbursement.
- If the deadline for applications allows, the Grant(s) may be awarded for the most current annual training seminar.
- Example: If deadline is February 1, 2018, the awarded grant may be utilized during the 2018 seminar or the 2019 seminar. Check with the recipient to determine which seminar they would like it applied to.
- Guideline – Take note of previous recipients and if funds are limited distribute accordingly.
Chairperson Duties #
- Electronically obtain the Scholarship and Grant applications from the Secretary-Treasurer.
- Once received the Chairperson will electronically disperse the applications to the committee for review and approval or denial.
- Prepare report for the Annual and Mid-Year Executive Committee Meetings and present the report if in attendance.
- Acknowledge, and if in attendance, present the Scholarship and Grant award(s) to the recipient(s) at the Installation Banquet.
- Ensure the Secretary-Treasurer has the checks ready prior to the Installation Banquet so it can be presented immediately.
